About Muscle Balance
Why Balance Matters
Muscle imbalances are one of the leading causes of training plateaus and injuries. When one muscle group is significantly stronger than its antagonist (e.g., chest vs back), it creates postural issues and limits overall strength potential. A balanced approach to training ensures long-term progress and injury prevention.
How We Calculate Your Score
Each lift is scored as a percentile against population strength standards, adjusted for your gender and body weight. Your balance score is derived from the standard deviation of these percentiles — the more consistent your percentiles across all muscle groups, the higher your score. A perfect 100 means all muscle groups are equally developed relative to your peers.
Improving Your Balance
Focus additional volume on your weakest muscle groups. Add 2-4 extra sets per week for lagging areas while maintaining volume for stronger groups. Reassess every 4-6 weeks to track improvements in your balance score.
